Gratefully Sober Just celebrated my 1st anniversary clean/sober after many years of addiction. Alcohol was my drug of choice, but was also hooked on tranquilizers. I'm one of those people who had to feel every ounce of pain in order to break through to where I am now. I have no illusions about my recovery, so I take it very seriously and prioritize it in my life. For the first time I'm enjoying an honest relationship with the higher power I call God. This relationship, which has engendered a spiritual and emotional awakening in me is paving the way for new relationships and the exploration of ideas whose existence I've previously been unaware. And all this emanating from the soul of a pill-popping, stumbling drunk! Who would've thought? I actually can't take much credit, as I've been so fortunate in receiving love and guidance from the friends/sponsors I've met in AA/NA. Thankfully, God has given me the courage to ask them for help, and the common sense to accept it. I suppose that being a somewhat greedy addict,though, it's only natural that I should want more-like a relationship. So what am I looking for? I would love to meet a woman who is also interested in a relationship. I am a very laid-back person who has few expectations, is very respectful of my partner, is affectionate, and doesn't play games. I believe that a relationship has to be cultivated, with plenty of room for mutual growth. I'm hoping to meet someone like-minded. Looking for someone who is as attractive on the inside as she is outwardly.
