By God's Grace My name is Randy Hollis and I'm an alcoholic. My sobriety date is 11/10/07. I'm a sober, step taking member of alcoholics anonymous. I have a sponsor, who has a sponsor, who has a sponsor, and so on. My home group is the 2nd Tradition speaker meeting on Saturday nights in San Jose CA. I average 3-5 meetings a week. I'm active and currently sponsor 3 men who I'm taking through the steps. I enjoy reading AA literature and downloading podcasts and MP3s of oldtimers and good speakers. I've been around the rooms for 22 yrs, so obviously I've relapsed. I'm doing a lot of things this time that I never did in the past.
I'm a 52 year old, divorced father of 2 beautiful girls,ages 18 and 15. The oldest is a freshman @ San Diego State, the youngest a freshman in high school. I am currently going for custody of the youngest. God willing that will happen in July.
Some of my interests outside of AA are the outdoors (beach, mountains, desert southwest), fishing, skiing, camping, hiking, travel, cooking, literature, movies, restoring old furniture, and computers.
I grew up in the 70's here in the San Francisco bay area, and I'm really an old hippie at heart. My code was always peace, love, understanding and tolerence. That was somewhat lost in the grips of the disease, but it feels so good to be getting back to my core beliefs.
I'm not sure what I'm looking for here as far as relationship. I have followed that unwritten rule in AA about no relationships in the first year and I'm feeling healthy and whole again. I feel like I'm ready, if nothing else I love email, IM, chat rooms, online forums, etc. If you're a like mided female and would like to know more about me than this little thumbnail, feel free to shoot me an email.
